A must read

Yesterday, we talked about genetic engineering. The concepts were presented, the animation was not shown due to power failure. Here it is now. Digest the concept and be ready for an exam on Monday (on the UNDERSTANDING facet- 30% of your grade)

What are the current uses of biotechnology?

Advances in the field of genetics added new tools and techniques to the pursuit of biotechnology, thereby opening the door to a type of genetic modification called genetic engineering. After James Watson, Francis Crick, and Rosalind Franklin resolved the molecular structure of DNA in 1953, information about base pairing and about principles of genetics led scientists to understand the process by which traits were inherited.
